Clive Edmondson - Drums

 Clive Edmondson

Clive was born in West London and was heavily influenced by the music and drummers of the seventies in particular, Brian Downey, Ian Paice, Simon Kirke, John Bohnham that were breaking new ground at the time.

A move to Birmingham in his teens prompted Clive to pursue his love of music which involved jam sessions around the area on acoustic guitar.

The early eighties saw Clive relocate to Somerset where he started a printing business and a family. His passion for the guitar continued, along with a renewed interest in the drums when time allowed! He continued to play both guitar and drums for local bands when possible as the growth of his business dictated the pace of life for the next twelve years.

After selling his share of the business in 2001, a move to Cornwall and the setting up of a holiday business allowed Clive to concentrate on  drumming and gigging.

By this time he became involved with the formation of Witchdoctor Blues Band, and being a founder member, was heavily involved in the running of the band.

The band had six successful years with tours to Shetland, Scotland and various Blues festivals. In December 2006 the band decided to call it a day and after a short spell playing with a soul/ blues five piece, Clive auditioned for Blue on Black and got the seat.

Current Influences - Thats a good question! So many great drummers around but anyone who has feel, a solid back beat and can funk it up gets my vote!
