An update and a plan...
12th December 2008 First and foremost, thank you all so much for your very kind wishes over the past few months, I'm only sorry that I wasn't around/capable of responding to you earlier myself but life has been rather hectic and un-predictable lately! As you are probably aware I was rushed into Intensive Care on the 18th of June with a severe blood disorder (totally out of the blue, no warning signs or anything ). Having defied the forecast of a 1/10 chance of making it through the first night, the Hospital I.T.U staff worked miracles on me and eventually, after a few months I was diagnosed with a fairly rare form of Leukaemia, for which I am still receiving Chemo' Therapy treatment. The Hospital had to let me go eventually as I was looking more and more like Papillon by the day, and since then I've been flourishing at home with things progressing quite well (although a lot slower than I would like). I have yet to regain the use of my left hand which is a legacy of some of the drugs used to increase my blood quality /pressure etc. at the time and will certainly need a minimum of 7 months further Chemo'. All of this has made planning for the band etc. very difficult and so we reluctantly cancelled the remainder of 2008 gigs, still things could have been a lot worse considering the alternative. Our latest plans are based upon the middle of next year (2009) before the Band will be out gigging again and promoting our new Studio C.D. "Suckin' Out Venom" which will contain 12 new original songs. Things may change, but I'm determined to get the Band back on the road on top form and better than before so this timescale, although frustrating, is probably realistic. We have already started to book Festival and Club dates from June 09 onwards and are looking forward to getting back on the road! I hope this helps as an update and I will endeavour to keep everyone more informed as things progress. In the meantime we'd like to wish you all a very Happy Christmas - we hope you have a safe and enjoyable one :) Best Wishes Keith Blue on Black
