New studio album - “Suckin' Out Venom”
07th December 2009 December 12th sees the release of “SUCKIN OUT VENOM” the long awaited album from Blue on Black following their very successful live album “In Transit” which received an 8/10 review from “Blues in Britain Magazine”. Recorded by Chris Gray at Troubadour studios in Falmouth, Cornwall then mixed and brought to life by Tom Joyce at the prestigious Sawmills studio in Fowey, Cornwall (which has spawned many famous albums over the years) “SUCKIN’ out VENOM” features 11 original tracks (with a running time of over 55 minutes) showcasing those powerful guitar licks, so long the signature sound of the band and earning this prestigious endorsement from their friend Ian Gillan of Deep Purple fame: "The first time I saw 'Blue on Black' I thought 'damn these guys are good'. I wasn't alone - the audience loved them. Second time I watched them do a fine job opening for Deep Purple in Plymouth U.K. Now they have produced 'Suckin out Venom', I am very happy to recommend it. Cheers, ig” (Ian Gillan). The band originates from the Southwest so as singer/guitarist Keith Howe says,” We felt straight at home in these studio environments and realised just how much a part of our sound has developed from the area and people we love”. This CD is the culmination of the Band's passion to play their Music (including a fight back from leukaemia) and keep up the "Operating Temperature" they’ve become famous for in delivering their trade mark "Weapons Grade" Rock and Blues. A series of tour dates are currently being planned to promote the CD along with airplay on local and national radio.
